Not pro-touring so I will leave this in here, but we started on another project this week.
This will be more of a stock build.

I think me & you might be on the same page on some skills. If we had spent the time & dedication that Chip Foose had from an early age, we might be really good (& faster) at the skill of drawing. But otherwise, drawing can be a distraction from just getting the project done. Having potential customer provide a useable image & you being able to easily resize & mark it out sounds like a plan. Can't take too long to do & be able to sell, right?

Soooo, you gave me an idea. Not sure when I'll have time to get back to starting my under hood .063 alum /perforated vented engine bay cover, but my emblem design could look good on each side of the engine between the vented portions.

Does a version of this design look possible & in a small size, like 12 x 12 ? This is a carving I hand made from uhmv plastic, design embroderied in my headrests by others off my design also. Just curious right now. You got me thinkin.

I would think that could be done.

THose would be cool in places other than on a car. They'd be neat as wall "posters", or filler panels in drop ceilings.

Try doing something with the edge [fold it over, roll it etcl] to make it look finished and then sell them as wall art.

A drop ceiling panel is a good idea, never would have thought of that one.

I kinda want to start framing them. I have ideas, but not enough time.
I also wanted to get the hang of bead rolling before I went to that step. Once I get about 20 or so in the office, I will probably make a bunch of frames on the weekend. I will have to adjust pricing if I frame them but I think it would also give them more of a completed feel.

Made some good progress on this 57'
We made a stanchion for every body mount location for the floor and rear supports to locate the rear trunk hinge mount location to verify that everything stays where we want it as we cut things apart to re-body the car.

Not to continue to derail your thread with non-car stuff, but incorporating a recessed "can" light into one of these metal panels would be cool.
On a 2'x4' wide drop ceiling panel, you could mount two small dim "can" lights, and form the shape of a car on the panel, making the lights look like headlights.

Hmmm.. that is something to think about. Or maybe some small Led lights on wall panels.

holy smokes.. I may need to think about moving out of California and get to a place where folks have these kind of talents and are not so full of themselves yet. Wonderful work, creativity etc.
