OG Racing: Lets Talk Data systems.

At OG racing we offer a very good choices for data.

      Tracqmate

      AIM

      Racepack

We have a SOLO DL that we have been using as a demo. We couldn't be happier with the results. She Software is easy to use and understand. The GPS works reliably on an autocross track. The smarty cam is also cool. the video is well made and features a Speed, RPM, throttle %, Brake pressure %, lap and track overlay.

The graph is each lap around the autocross course, overlapped to see the differences in lateral G's at a given point, mph, and lap times. This way, you can reference any changes in air pressure, shock changes, etc, to see if it helped or not. It's mainly used for comparing after the event to see what worked and what didn't.. So the next event you can be better prepared- given the variables of course (temp, tire wear, pavement type).

How well does the Aim Solo DL if you don't have an OBDII port?

If you need me to go look at these and take some pics I am local to this shop and actually go there all the time.

The AIM solo is a very cool device. It will record your runs, Calculate your speeds, and overlay all your runs together. You can see all of your data. after that you can review it, or have a coach show you where, and what turn you need to improve on. YouTube has allot of very good videos explaining how to read track data. (i will find some of those videos and post a link.) after you know how to read track data you just about stop reviewing film. Reading data is simple, much faster, and more accurate than videos. The coolest feature i've found is that it works for auto-x. The Data that we posted earlier was from the Chevy Nationals Autocross 2014. We have yet to find a small hand held lap timer that works on a small track. It's battery operated. Just carry it to the start line, hit record, carry it to the finish line, hit record and the SOLO does the rest. No longer will you need to burn a lap to get your map created.

The Aim SOLO DL is just like the solo but with an added data logger built in. It can read threw an OBDII port or threw a CAN BUS system. Currently they are developing the software to read the Holley HP EFI's. We will be the testers for that software in the next coming weeks. the SOLO DL will record anything the ECU sees. It will then overlay the data over your run. We like to keep an eye on our ls1's oil pressure during a run. If you're working with a carbureted engine and have no plans of adding an ecu then the DL would be overkill and we would recommend the standard SOLO.
