Size: 139.8 KBThis is how i drove the car all last summer along with the before and after shots of my body mods. The wide body is for the rear of the car and the front is just getting some changes. Its a beautiful car all on its own but there are a few things it like to do to it since i can leave anything alone.

Size: 201.7 KBThis is the birdcage structure i created beneath the cardboard resin and bondo. All of this gets scrapped after we get perfect moulds for a reproducible kit. I designed the new quarter shape to accommodate the new 20x12 deep dish wheels with 29" tall 315 Nitto Invo"s and to give the 71 a full length shoulder i felt was missing.

While Danny finishes the rear of the car I started with the basic shapes for the front apron.

Size: 261.2 KBHood has been made. Front clip is ready for molds. In the mean time I've started to consider how in going to bring life to the tires. I know the decals are going to be red on the car but I'm still not sure on the overall colour of the car. Black looks cool but it's been over done over the years. Need something different.

My favorite year of any Mustang is the 71 fastback. Looks awesome!

Just looking at it I think having the primary color be a silver with some ultra fine flake in it and black graphics would look great. Put black wheels with a polished lip and silver lettering on the tires to make them pop. Black always looks cool but can bury body lines. A brighter color with dark accents puts the lines on display IMHO.

Great suggestion Tim. Considered it already and left the idea and then went back to it and so on. I always labour over the colour scheme for months but I find that the very first idea was always the best one. I haven't shared that idea with anyone but the painter and he is all for it. All I can say is that it is going to be more radical than usual and he and I agree that it won't look if its not a full commitment. If I haven't said too much it will definitely be a surprise-even for me once it's done!!

Size: 201.5 KBAfter 5 months in my shop and 5 months in Danny's body shop the car leaves tomorrow for the fibreglass moulds. Hood was sent ahead and is already complete and now it's time for the rest. I expect it will take about. 3-4 weeks before the car and the new parts return to Danny's shop for fitment, prep and paint. Needs to be back at my shop for final assembly around Christmas. Hopefully enough time to put it back together for spring. A new 347 is being built for it and a TKO II is going in behind it. Looking to pick up the new front suspension idea I have , sway bars and frame connectors in the near future. Keep you posted.
