      Project Cottonmouth

This is just the beginning of my latest project. It a 1967 Dodge D100 shortbed that's getting a Gen III Viper engine, trans and rear end from a 05 Ram SRT10 chassis I bought. I also hope to use the brakes and anything else I can.

You look close at that frame and you can see that the front section with the 4 body mounts is spliced into by the rear rails with the rear 2 body and box mounts. Point being, the front sections are all the same for all wheelbases of the 1500's. I would use that new frame and do whatever needed to make it work unless you're wanting less weight. $$$ wise that would be an excellent choice since the SRT10's have a huge following as far Mopar aftermarket support goes. Edit: I've been wrong many times before, actually upon looking closer, there are 2 splices and the middle section is what needs taken out and the rear cab mounts would still be the rear cab mounts on a standard cab and the middle cab mounts would get the boot.

I don't think a direct bolt on is in the cards. Not only is the wheelbase off by a mile, the track is wider, plus the height is a major concern. The chassis is being delivered tomorrow, I will be doing a lot of measuring to see what my options are. I probably won't get started on it till the winter, I have to finish two other cars first, then I will be able to hit it hard.

I love that rendering. If you pull it off in that style it will be awesome.

Not a lot to update, but I did have the Dana 60 narrowed 6", and I have been trying to figure out how to use the large (15") front brakes on an aftermarket Mustang 2 type suspension. So I decided to design up my own spindles to use the SRT front hubs, discs, and calipers, but they have the same geometry as a set of Wilwood Pro spindles.
