The bed is outside, got the chassis stripped, I have to flip it over, finish welding, then a couple coats of SPI black epoxy.

Might seem crazy, but I finished the body work on the chassis, really want it to look nice from underneath. I'm thinking a couple coats of SPI black epoxy will give it a nice matte finish. Also had my sway bars powder coated.

So I picked up a cheap Ebay scale so I could weigh some of the components, just out of curiosity. The chassis came in lighter than I expected at 480Lbs.
The engine and trans together came in at 770Lbs , and the Dana 60 was 275lbs. I don't know if these or good or bad (doesn't really matter) anybody have any weights for comparison?

      Looking Good !
I think the weight will be what it is! as you said , its where you put the weight that maters most!
Keeping the weight as low as possible and trying to get it as close to 50/50 bal. is key!
      cool project!

Your weights are correct as what I have seen. I want to caution you about something. All ceramic insulation only does so much. It;s pretty good at sound deadening but heat transfer is not where it accels. I use a product called Low E insulation. There are many places to buy this product. It's thin and easily glued to all surfaces. I have used it in the last couple of hot rods I've built. Your truck has enough area in the cab that a good ac unit such as Vintage Air will do a good job but on a tight confine builds such as a 32 Ford, you will need all the insulation you can get. Thickness always causes problems. Your project is looking good!

Awesome build, love the approach and skill set demonstrated here throughout. Very inspiring. Got to the end of the write up to find it still being actively worked on!

I got a hotcoat gun recently, it's a little odd having to press the button with one hand and shoot with the other but the results are worth it...

These are wheels I've done for my RV project, the just barely fit in the oven I got for free. For colors, you need to go to Prismatic Powders, there selection of colors is mind blowing... There are a lot of things that I used to rattle can that will get coated now...

One thing I've found out that I like, preheating the part and shooting while still hot ( aka "hot flocking" ) seems to give me better results and uses less powder. Hot flocking also allows coating of non conductive items like glass.

I've seen that mentioned, and thought it was a good idea. But I guess you can actually get runs that way. I'm gonna try it....on some scrap..
