Definitely a badass build. Ive got a 65 ill eventually get to. I agree with kingcrunch about your panhard bar needing to be longer but since you dont have the room then I would suggest a watts link. They're easy to set up and provide far better results

I dig the engine placement--for 10 cylinders, you've got that thing located pretty nicely, both for weight displacement and general coolness.

Just for the heck of it I created a mockup model of the rear panhard bar in Solidworks to check the amount of side to side travel. According to my calculations ( measured from an arbitrary line ) the top of the shock stroke ( 5" ) gave me a measurement of 2.160", to the middle was 2.264" and the to the bottom was 2.160" so that equals a total side to side movement of 0.104". I can live with that...

My concern is about the roll center, not primarily side to side movement.
Is that a view of the actual panhard bar orientation at ride height?

That's at the bottom of the stroke, It's level at ride height.

That was what I was wondering about as well.

I've been sneaking around this website for some time now and really like your build. After seeing your cab removal picture I had a flashback of my '69 almost sliding off awhile back! Looks like you have jimmy rigged a wooden balance, any chance off a couple pictures? Thank you, and great truck.

Not a lot to update, but I did box the center frame section with 3/16" plate, I fabbed up a trans crossmember, and got that tacked in.Name: 100_1218.JPG

Been a little slow lately, life keeps getting in the way. I did manage to replace the factory rear crossmember with an Art Morrison one. Then finished boxing the frame, and added a couple diagonal braces. Next will be the exhaust.

The looks and the fabrication on this are just perfect. That donor frame looks like it was a great score. I have an old 1968 dodge ambulance destined to be a tow vehicle and every time I see builds like this I keep wanting to make it a performance build.

      Keep up the great work
