Front calipers are done, these babies are monsters. The pistons are 2 1/4" in dia. That makes 4 square inches per piston, 16 square inches per caliper, times 1200psi line pressure equals 19,200lbs of force per caliper, times 2. That should be enough to stop on a dime, and leave 5 cents change.....Name: 20191207_162525.jpg

They came out great! Did you have any trouble getting the powder in the tight corners, or did you try preheating them a little?

No preheating necessary, just very low air pressure. Thanks Wayne..

Sweet work! How have you felt about the size of that oven? I'm not sure if it's big enough, but I'm also not sure what would be a size between that and a full-sized oven either.

I am no expert, but I believe you only calculate piston size on one side of the caliper, so 2 1/4" X 2 for area. That Cerakote looks awesome!

A lot of people use old house ovens, bit I don't have the floor space for it. This oven was big enough to do my lower control arms and calipers.

Getting the engine and trans cleaned up and ready for paint. It's a big PIA to get in all the nooks an crannies, using degreaser, Eastwood Aluminum prep ( acid base ) and lots of elbow grease. I tried media blasting with walnut shells, didn't even touch it, just bounced off. Hope to finish up this weekend.

Engine and trans are clean, just final prep before painting. I 3D printed some plugs so I can remove the spark plugs and paint in the recess. Going to install a Trans Go shift kit before I paint the trans.

Wow I was strolling down and seen that you had done all that work just to paint it black. I almost puked but then when I scrolled to the next pic I was aware that it wasn't the case. I remember a magazine article about a feature car where someone commented on the fact that a car had no BLACK anywhere on it. Apparently black shows a lack of imagination. (I Agree) Nice project!

Can't believe I hadn't commented on this build yet.
Not a Mopar/Dodge guy but definitely a fan of excellent work.
Love the fabbed spindles. Might have to try my hand at Cerakote.
      Engine looks great too.
