I have been away from the Charger for a few days as my youngest graduated culinary school (CIA) in NY. He is only home for 3 weeks then back to school for a business degree.
I welded in the wheel wells and have the bumper & trunk supports painted and ready to install.
      Thanks
      Pat

All the metalwork in the back of the car is complete and now it is time for the front of the car, motor, 6 speed, and RMS suspension. (The fun stuff)
      Thanks

That is top notch metal work dude, if I paid someone hard earned money to replace that much metal on something I had, your results are what I would expect to see. But I don't and never will have that kind've money!

Good progress! I'm anxious to hear your first drive report. All of us old guys know how these cars were.

I just remembered today marks one year into this build that I’m shooting to finish by next spring. It is so true how fast time fly’s by as we get older :-(

I drop the K member and remove the bump stops from the frame rails. The K member has SSBC disc brakes and is in good shape with a tight steering box and I would like to sell it if anyone is interested?
      Thanks

I cut the bump stops off so that they could be reused on another car if someone needs a set?
Cleaned up the frame rails and fit the RMS K member.
      Thanks

That's a nice looking set up. A lot different from the other setup.

I'm a torsion bar fan but I don't know anyone who has experimented with different bars on one vehicle. I'm curious as to your impressions after you drive it. Good progress.

Even with all my calculations, double checking with the different venders, and other threads with similar suspensions it was a relief seeing the front wheel on the car with great clearance and no rubbing issues with in the fender.

      Thanks

I mocked up the steering U-joints and cut the shaft to fit, nice hardware supplied by RMS!
      Thanks

Do they make the safe release tape "dots" for masking the spot weld areas, or are you that much of a meticulous weirdo? (no offense intended)

No shortage of top notch work on this site, and your rides look like more fine examples. I really dig the Trans AM (we have a 74') but your sons fast back is a car on my bucket list too... oh yea, and that killer charger you're putting together isn't so bad either....

Couldn't you do this with one U-joint, a little higher up from the upper and in a straight line from the rack pinion input? Or that won't clear the headers?

Sorry I'm that meticulous weirdo ;-)
I made them with a 3/8 hollow punch and a half used roll of tape.
      Thanks!Pat

That would be nice, and from the side picture it looks like one U joint would work. But run the same line on the top view and its not the same location and they would need to intersect at the same spot on the column shaft for one U joint to work. I'm sure the added clearance will be need as well!
      Thanks
      Pat
