This generation of chargers are beautiful cars. Can you imagine doing a project without rust? Great build, I seemed to have missed this until now!

US Car Tool supplied custom trunk hinge supports with the mini tub kit but I’m not sure how they fit and they don’t look right for this build so I modified the original mounts. I made a cardboard template and transferred the shape to the original mount. This finishes the original look I was working on.
      Thanks

With the inter wheel wells out the aft end of the rockers is open. So before they go in for good I vacuumed, cleaned , and sprayed Eastwood internal frame coating inside. Over 46 years old on the east coast they look great inside and now they should be good for another 46 years. I wonder if I’ll be good for another 46 years??
      Thanks

Epoxy the inside of the trunk and rear frame rails with DuPont 2505S DTM epoxy primer/sealer today.
Now its ready to weld the trunk floor and inter wheel wells in.
      Thanks

I watched the build you did on the 70 Trans Am and Kurt's mustang, this thing is turning out as awesome as those!

      Joe,
The Trans Am is a really nice car as it is all original, number matching with only about 1260 made in 1972 it’s a rare car. The Charger I’m building now is cool and will be great road car when finished, but Kurt’s 1968 Bullitt replica was a fun car to build with my son. The two years we restore his car was the best time I ever had working on cars! I only hope that one day I can do another car with one of my sons or a grandson???
Thank You for following our builds!

I wasn't sure of the year of the TA, but knew it was an early 70's, do you still have it? I can only imagine how much fun this charger is going to be to drive!

Yes I still have it and no plans to sell it. Drove it across part of the country in 2011 and would like to do that again some day
      Thanks

Welded in the trunk floor today and hope to put the inter wheel wells in tomorrow. The floor fit great with little persuasion. I was able put a bead of seam sealer at the tail panel and where the interior floor meets the trunk floor. I also used my spot weld wherever I could reach and plug welded what was left.
      Thanks
      Pat

Epoxy primer the inter wheel wells along with few other parts today. I hope to install them permanently tomorrow.

I was wondering what all the pieces of tape were for. Then the brain turned on. Looking good.

Awesome project! What are you using to strip the paint that leaves the even hatched finish?
