Maybe it's a nostalgia thing, and because you don't see it much anymore, as thinking in modern car terms, a vinyl top seems so out there. Of course not all cars can pull them off. I particularly like vinyl tops on cars with flying buttresses like the Charger and A-Body, as well as 67-69 Camaros, and El Caminos.
For many years I felt the same way about vinyl tops but it took me an additional 20 years ( I’m 54) to start to like them ;-)

Not a pro touring car but still very cool with a lot of original hot rod history!

I used Matt black vinyl to cover the silver insulation (recommended by others) then started to install the new headliner. This is the fourth car I install the headliner on, and it seems to be getting a little easier ;-)

I dreaded doing my Charger's headliner - the C pillars were a pain to get smooth -

      Doing amazing work!

The next build I do will be plumbed more with hard lines than not. Your's will be hidden but in lots of rods, they are semi visible. The neatness is a plus. I wish I was close to you. I'd sure like a ride when completed. I know what these cars were like when new. Doing great!

Speaking of hardlines- the image shows a yellow tint (at least on my monitor). Are they a plated steel, anodized aluminum, or my poor eyesight? Also, are you planning on shielding to prevent possible rock damage?

      Beautiful work.

All the lines are stainless steel and the cover I made will get installed after the fender are mounted.

Looks stainless to me. Think any aircraft builder would be proud to have claimed to have run those lines.
What is the looped line for?

The headliner came out great. The black vinyl is a great idea, my insulation is silver too. Glad I saw this. Nice job.

Thank you sir! This boat mechanic is proud of ;-)
The loop line that runs out in front is a power steering/hydro boost cooling line that I have yet to add fins to.
