HAHAHA that is awesome, your son has excellent taste. The story of why they used a Charger to begin with is cool in itself. Make sure you tell your son the guys in the Charger were not running from the Stang, they were just trying to line up for a clean shot lol.

Received my tires yesterday, 255/45 and 335/35. Hope to get the wheels in a few weeks, then I can test
fit the front wheel/tires but will have to wait until I mini tub the rear to see the back wheels/tires under the car.
      Thanks!

I skinned the charger and found a little rust around the back window but the front window channel looks great!

I also pulled the motor and Trans, as I sold it. With the motor in the car and still running I put it on Craigslist with a video and the 2nd called bought it! The 1st called was pissed.
      Thanks
      Pat

One of my all time favorite movie chase scenes and Mopars in general. I love your concept and execution of the restoration so far!! Great job and I am really looking forward to seeing more progress!!

Went to Chrysler Carlisle and picked up a AMD trunk floor and US Car Tool chassis stiffening kit and mini tub kit and a few other things. It was hot but a great day!

Removed the glue and green paint from the fuel fill pipe and sanded the lead coating with 400- 600 and 800 then clear coated it. Note use a respirator and glove when sanding lead.

With the car still on all 4 I started fitting the US car tool frame connectors and after a little grinding they fit pretty well.

I also started on the only part of the frame that was rusted. The right side of the cross member needed a small section cut out and replaced so I found a donor frame rail to graft in the frame.

I will weld up after I finish cleaning the undercoat off.
      Thanks
      Pat

Are you using rust bullet on the inside of the rails or something else?

No I just sprayed the areas that I could get to with weld through primer. I will use Eastwoods internal frame paint with extension hose at a later date. I use this on my sons fastback and it worked great.
      thanks

      Sweet project.

I followed the rebuild of your son's Mustang over HR magazine. No doubt this one will turn out just as nice.

Evod said the wheels should ship late next week and sent a picture of one of the center sections.
      Thanks
