I'm trying to make it down. What is the consensus on camping versus hotel? Plans for dinner out or in on fri / sat?

edit: found that the bath house will be closed during the event, so no camping. Checked the host hotel and its booked for other events. May just come down for the afternoon / evening tomorrow, or possibly for the day saturday. is the race inside like the motorama, or outside the raceway in the visitor parking?

      Sparky,
The Wrackers and myself have booked rooms about 15 minutes from the track at the Econo-Lodge. They had rooms available as of last night. $49 a night!!!

What a great weekend!! A big thanks to the ASCS crew for organizing such a great event. It was good meeting some of you and getting to see old friends. I hope to get more seat time in the future and get faster. My limited experience really shows. LOL

I know he ain't running after any cones from the "screamin' chicken" .... all my runs were clean, right? lol
I apologize to the cone wranglers on my runs and to the others in attendance that had to endure the "screaming" of the 'bird. Maybe I'll find a source for obsolete turbo gasket stuff and throw on some new belts and it'll quieten down some. First car I ever had that never made any exhaust noise (except under deceleration).... strange, this 301.

Hopefully, some of Sparky's videos will allow others to actually hear the "screaming"..... I know the guys over on the 301garage forum would like to check it out.

Despite all the heavily modified Pro Touring cars your Trans Am was still my favorite car to watch on the autocross course.

When i pulled up in my wifes car and told the organisers that i had a nissan they said "You're not here to drift are you?". i guess at the last event they had some guys go out in 240's and pile threw all the cones. Our one or two can't be any worse then those guys.

Thanks, John. Most everybody likes a little comedy every now and then. Just figured I'd have me some fun out there..... super old/hard tires make it easy to have fun.

Being a Pontiac guy, I really liked your T/A... you've really got a great build. I read your build thread yesterday. SWEET!
