I need help guys. I ordered the truck-light 27270C for my 69 camaro. Its not a direct bolt up. The chrome ring is about 1/2 of a inch away from the headlight bucket. Not sure how you guys are directly bolting up these headlights. Help anybody? Thanks Ray

I just figured it out. That beauty ring was a pain in the ass slipping over the truck light. Have it all mounted up. Looks great. Light output is freaking awesome. Lights up my whole garage.

      Hi Dale,

Can you pleas provide more information on the nature of the mods required to the buckets? I'd like to go this route with an aftermarket (Classic Industries) RS front end kit and would like to better understand the requirements prior to dropping a g note on the parts only to find out it's too difficult for a DIYer.

      Thanks!

      Jeff
A quick update on this. I was able to install the Trucklites into a Classic Industries RS conversion kit without any modifications to the headlight buckets. The only mod required was to shave off the tiny nib on the bottom of the headlight itself. I'll post some pics as soon as I figure out how.

The turn signals are nice, too. The lean feature on the motorcycle lights is pimp.

I have factory HID's on a few rigs and LED's on others... I like the LED's better.

Led truck lights work with the rs retro electro doors? Didn't know if the led would cause a issue with the headlight doors opening and closing

Not on mine. I am currently going to cut the "grills" out of my inner doors and flush mount either a mesh, or tinted acrylic glass.Name: E3EDA612-758C-4696-A97A-A1626009C984.jpg

you need to cut the headlight retaining bucket ALOT to push the truck-lite lights back or they will hit the door as well as the lower door arm. Ask me how i know lol. Again this is for a 67 and 68. it might be different for a 69. Headlights stick out a 1" past the stock ones.

Here ya go... a pair of 7" LED headlights for under $100... They look good and the price is reasonable.

LED headlights make the hide-away headlight doors not close

I have a 1967 Camaro RS with headlight doors. When I replace the factory halogen 7" headlights with LED headlights (Truck-Lite "knock-offs"), my headlight doors will open, but they will not close when the lights are turned off. I have read that this is because the door close circuit relies on ground through the headlight filaments. If you convert to HID headlights then the ground circuit may not exist or be enough.

Will a resistor installed in-line between the headlight wire and the body ground correct this issue? If so, how does the resistor get wired?

Please don't run these, there is a reason they are cheap. Look at all that unfocused light blasting everywhere. This is the stuff that blinds oncoming traffic and everyone else on the road hates. Spend a few more bucks and do it right.
