I personally prefer 18/18. I think they both look & perform best on a first gen. I tend to be on the more practical/conservative side on wheels & paint. I like 20s on bigger cars & trucks, just not on f bodies, novas, etc. I'm running 18/19 on our 68 firebird. It looks good, but I would have preferred 18s in the rear. I got a good price on a package deal on a bunch of parts from a guy who went from pro-touring to drag on his 69. There are tons of pics of wheels on first gens. Spend an evening on google image or even on some of the pro-touring sites and see what look you like. Then do some reading on what some of the other guys are running. Sounds like you will be doing some racing with the parts you have installed. Scott

Exactly.... I would go 18/18 on that car. The affordable tire choices are better in 18". I'd also look at what width tire you would like to run in the rear, prices on 19's are scary when you get into the 295 range or better.

I'm pretty sure DSE run 18/18 on the 69 test car, which has similar set up.

That would be enough info for me

18s for me all around. 19" wouldnt be bad on the rear but stick with a 275/35/18 on the front. If you do go with a 325/30/19. that would give you a 1" taller tire in the rear. if you went with a 305/30/19 it would be 3/4" taller tire in the rear.

IMO 18's front and rear are optimum for the first gen Camaros. Anything bigger is too much for the body style.

18/19 example..the 19 inch tires are higher priced but superior if looking at above 295's...

If you have a 19 in the rear over the 18 front, you WANT a 1" increase in overall tire height. You need to match tire sidewall height when rim differences are desired.

I'm going to jump in here as I just purchased a set of Jasons Livewire's in 19X9 & 18X8. So can someone chime in here for a tire sizing recommendation please
Car is on full coil overs and will be lowered ... NOT mini-tubbed

      Thanks

With only a 9 inch rim you are limited to about a 255 wide tire. 8 inch rim is more like 235 wide.

      18/18 ,18/19, 19/19, 19/20 Rims on 1968 Camaro

New guy here. Jason guided me to a 275 max tire for the rear with a stock wheel well. Love the livewires and super spoke rushforths. I'm looking at 18x9 fronts with 265/35/18 and 18x10 on the rear w/ 275/35/18 Falken Azenis 615's. backspacing has been greatest concern. 5.75" front and rear. I do run the ridetech strong arms, tru turn and musclebar in front and their 4-link in the rear.
