      1968 Barracuda in Plano Texas

... lot of progress this year.

Looking for a body shop, thought I had it figured out, but having my doubts. Looking for recommendations in the DFW area.

So far I have North Texas Customs in Wylie, Wilson Auto in Garland, and Mohr Restorations in NRH.

      Ready for Paint

Here are pictures from today, it is ready for body and paint. Just need to remove the wheel well trim, headlight buckets, and finish scraping some seam sealer. Everything else that can be has been removed. Rear suspension can be removed in about five minutes. The hood will not be making the trip to the body shop...

I have known Rod for a few years. I was not aware he did any body and paint himself, I was under the impression he had that done "somewhere nearby". North Texas Customs is about two blocks away. Am I wrong in that assumption?

... OK, just went through your build thread, I was wrong, looks like Rod does have a spray booth and does all that other work on site!!! Maybe it is just the media blasting that gets done by the North Texas Customs guys. Guess I need to go have a chat with Rod.

Love the old Weiand TR and the overall in your face of that engine. Car should be dangerous for sure.

I think the Weiand with the EFI throttle bodies will just barely squeeze under a six pack hood.

It was plenty dangerous as it was. Ported iron heads, oversize stainless valves, Edelbrock RPM, and a Ultradyne solid lifter cam. Car has a 727, a Coan 11" Pro-Street converter, 3.90 gear with a locker. Engine was putting out about 550hp at the crank.

I wanted to go "up a notch". Slightly bigger cam, roller, more lift, ported aluminum heads, multi-port EFI and a manual transmission. This was my first big block Mopar with an auto, my previous cars had manual transmissions and I miss that. I will be visiting a few shops this week, it is time for body and paint.

      New Concept in Plan

Go check out New Concept in Plano. they are off 75 and Legacy on the east side of highway. They paint everything from hot rods to lambo. They have a very nice down draft and mixing booth.

      Back from media blast today!

The car came back from the media blaster today. I received a text with a picture... I went over after work and took 38 more pictures before it gets primer tomorrow. Zero rust... and body damage was not as bad as we thought. This car is clean and VERY solid!

Almost forgot to mention. T-56 Magnum is on order...
