What do you want to know?

      Are you mini tubbed?

What suspension upgrades are you running-dropped spindles etc.?

      Race or street?

The folks here will help you any chance they get, but you have to provide more info for them to be able to help you achieve your goals.

      I hope this helps,
      Ed

sorry about that. my 68 has stock spindles global west control arms and springs, and QA1 shocks. It is not tubbed and it will be for street. I have a chance to get some new rims 17x7's in the front with a 4 inch backspace the rear's are 18x8 with 4 1/2 of backspacing.

You may want to add a place in the database for a link to a photo. That way members can view members vehicles and setups. How do we add our cars setup to the list?

      Red,

The database is extremely outdated. Our new car gallery will have provisions for a wheel fitment search, etc (everyone will also be able to add their own cars). This was just something we did a long time ago as a quick and temporary fix.

      I agree

I agree with Red73, A picture of the car beside the info would be great, that way we can see if we like the way the combo fits the car!

I just put 275/40-17's (Nitto 555rII) on all four corners of my 69 Firebird. The wheels are Billet Specialties Street Stars, 17"x9.5" w/ 5.5" back space (280 each from a local Discount Tire). I have stock subframe, with SPC (from scandc.com) adjustable upper control arms, DSE lower control arms, and stock (8.2 BOP) rearend. The backspacing is perfect for the front, but the rear could have been 5.75" (there's about 0.5" clearance between the tires and upper rolled outer fender wells and about 1" clearance between the tires and inner fender well). I wanted to be able to rotate the tires so I ordered the same backspacing for all 4 wheels.

      1968 Firebird

      Rear
      11”x17” rims with 6.5” offset 335 35 17 tires
notched rear sub frame, rolled fenders
3.5” of drop with leafs and roll slider shackles
      custom full floating ford 9”

      Front
      9.5”x17” rims with 4.5” offset 285 35 17 tires
custom weld in Art Morrison C-5 front sub frame
      rolled fender lips.

You might also want to add a note to the list that explains the imperfections in GM's manufacturing process. Dimensions can very more then 1/2” from one car to the next. I only assume this is also the case with other automobile manufactures of the late 60's.

I did some searching for the database and was suprised how tough it is to find and when I found it , it only had maybe 50 cars on it. Is it in the middle of an update? I have never looked for it but always thought it had way more cars in it than that?

Can someone post the URL of the "new" database? Maybe a mod can also add it to the first post on here.
