      "Swoosh" 79 Monte Carlo Project LS3 + T56

      Hi guys,

I'm new here and looked around a bit and thought I also want to show what I'm working on for so long LOL

      ..so here's my project-car, my 1979 Monte Carlo 305.

I bought it december 2002 and I'm still on it... I work on it everytime when I have some lil time and money or so LOL

current projects, rework the whole car, rebuild frame/suspension. Body will be painted something like gunmetal (dark grey)..

first steps - I cleaned a lil bit the engine and added some chrome parts..

      09/17/2007:

started to unscrew all stuff between body and frame..

      yummy!!

..unfortunately its over a year now I had to stop work on it because of money issues... but I hope this year I can start again.
Like said before, want to rebuild everything. Want a clean & smooth car - good suspension, good brakes and a nice look..

..something like that I want it to look like.. but not black car - mine should be gunmetal..

I also got a full Vortech V2 s-trim kit laying here, originally it was for my 1998 Ford Mustang 3.8 V6 (my daily).

I just wanted to get rid of the vortech kit but now it let me think to put it on the MC.

I'm also thinking about a manual transmission swap. Thought about a T5 because I'm here in GERMANY and there's not much I can choose from. Some friends are into Mustangs and got a T5 laying.
Anyone used the Quicktime RM-6064 bellhousing?

      http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=120299551342

Want to know if it works smooth to use a Ford T5 on a GM engine with that bellhousing..

      Okay so far,

feel free and post your thoughts and suggestions!

Will that Vortech give enough boost for the V8?

It's so nice, it's worth posting twice! :

With that stance and those lines you could paint it MaryKay pink and it would still look cool.

No doubt! I never thought a 3rd gen Monte Carlo could look so good. The lines on the car , with that stance look freaking awesome. Nice!

I just looked around for ideas what to do with the interior.. especially with the dash/gauge-cluster.. and found this:

It's a 1960 Impala dashboard. Makes me want to do that for my Monte Carlo. I think it'll look good with some Autometer gauges and a few other mods

never been a fan of the late 70's montes though I almost bought a 78 as a first car but decided against it due to the car being on the wrong side of town and the odometer going over twice the photoshop looks though

Wow what a cool project man. I give it up to you guys cause not only are parts for these cars hard to find over there... they are expensive when you do. I laugh when I see guys getting Baer brakes and think that they are just down the road from me about 15 minutes. Did you buy those used? Good luck!

Do I spy a Mk2 Cortina parked next to your Monte? Is it yours?

Definately go the ls route and the t56. You won't regret it. That is light years ahead of the small block and t5 set up. It would be super sweet!
