Spectre front spoilers - Camaro vs. Firebird

So I'm on the hunt for the awesome aluminum lower front spoiler that Spectre used to make for the Camaro in 2 different versions; 67-68 and 69 only.

My question is for those members here who have enough experience to tell me:

Which version I would have an easier time making work with my 69 Firebird?

I know the lower front valance on the Firebird and Camaro differ a fair bit. But if someone could tell me which *might* fit better to start with, I would really appreciate it!

Here is a picture of the 69 Camaro version:

Thanks, but that's what I already have and it's not enough. I also asked if he could make a more extreme one as a custom commission and he refused.

Was considering one of those. What do you mean by "not enough?"

Also, have you looked at these?

I haven't seen that, but it does look very close to what I'm looking for.

By not enough, I mean it's zero better functionally that the D80 front spoiler that was stock on the 69 Camaro. I need something that will add more downforce on my front end for 1/2 and 1 mile top speed events. I'm in the 199mph and under class just for fun, but still need something that serves the function.

I doubt you will find anything off the shelf to help you in those type events. A factory plastic one won't live at those speeds

I'm wondering if it mounts horizontally on a 69 or does it mount at a steep angle like on the 67-68's? Have you verified if pepboys actually has them in stock or do they just show them on their site?

They haven't stocked them in a few years and looking at looking at pics of cars with it installed, it's on a steep angle like this /

Yeah, that's what I thought. I think those are now unobtainium. So buying one and modifying it is unlikely.

They come up for sale every 6 months or so, sometimes NOS, or used. I'm just not sure if I should be looking for a 67-68 or a 69. Not sure what year Camaro lower valence is closest to a 69 Firebird.

I'm in no hurry and am willing to just buy one when as they come along.

I'm also looking for a front air dam like the Spectre but no one has anything currently on the market. I know Rod Prouty had a Spectre front air dam on Jane but has long since removed it. I also looked at the Randys spoilers and they are good for looks but add nothing to keep the front end down and he is not interested in making anything else.

I have also been looking at the current front splitter that is on Big Red. I had pics but can't find them at the moment.

Anything new pop up with this? Something that creates some more downforce?

Any vendor looking for a new product idea. There seems to be a lot of interest in a functional first gen front air dam like these! If the air dam was able to mount a splitter it would be even better.
