I am glad to see that those new 13" Wilwoods are working well for Don Chemello in the '32 Ford.

Some seriously steep competition out there. The number of people within 2 seconds of the top end on such a long course is unbelievable. I like being top 10 here in my own little corner but think it would be cool if the course was standardized to see how I stack up.

Congrats to Don Chemello on the win in the Hot Rod class. Don has been working hard to sort out this car for a while now, and all the laps at AMP are paying off. Glad we could help with the sway bar fix tuesday and get Don on his way to the winners circle.

Those times are not for the last round on Saturday. Did the last round not count?

What a blast! Wish i could do that every weekend. But next time will try to remember that my rear proportioning valve is righty loosey(open), lefty tighty(Closed).....Great running with all the truck guys , you guys rock. Thanks to Mary and David Pozzi for the extra wheel spacers and to Kyle and Stacy Tucker for letting me borrow tools all weekend. Rj Plent helped me out so much I don't even want to start by saying how much but thanks brother. Also a good friend of mine Scott Call came down to sort out the truck but with so many cool cars running we had min track time to tune. looks like So-Cal challenge is next....See you guys and gals at the next event... Weekend Highs - and Lows Had a great weekend, good runs, and good friends. but here's some highlights.

High - Hangin out in Del Mar with some great people. Spending a free day (thurs) with Tina in Old Del Mar and at the dog beach.
Low - headaches with the campground nazi
High - the amount of people at the show, good sign for us all
Low - Backfire and loss of unseen vacuum caps
High - Kyle Tucker has a supply of vacuum caps
      High - Pizza Port
High - campground fun after hours
Low - Bad ass mustang gettin scratched
High - Third place finish in Pro - tough crowd
High - watching friends make great runs.
High - Mike Wins!! - no, Mary Wins!!!
High - Bret Campbel runs 53.000 - should have got a sticker that said 51
High - Mike Maier runs 52.9xx - I knew it was there
      Low - It's over :(
High - The winner of the No limit $250 cert (Dan W's freind) hands it to me and say's "Can I turn this into a donation for thr Todd Gartshore fund?" - Yes SIR.
Low - knowing that the fun is moving east for the summer. I need a sponsor.

BTW, yes, I am really proud of beating Kyle Tucker 2 out of 3 times out west this spring. He will join Bret Voekel, Brian Hobaugh, and Roger Burman on the list of those i have bested. I have heard some trash talk about them getting beat by a truck. The reason it's a big deal for me is that I have a lot of respect for these guys, their companys, products and their cars. Kyle and Stacy run a VERY professional business, and produce well engineered products, and thats hard to beat. These guys are fast. It's a big deal because of that. There are others on my list, like Maier, Pozzi and Finch. But all of them deserve respect and admiration. I won't get them all, and I don't expect to be faster every time, but you got to have a goal. Besides, if you think their so slow, you go race 'em. I'm excited about Columbus and the fall Scottsdale Shootouts, where I'll get the chance to once again be in the pits with best drivers in our sport. Yes, it was a great weekend.

Great write-up, Rob. You have taken the truck competition to a whole new level and I couldn't believe how fast you were through that course. Congrats on your third place OA in Pro and all I've got to say is that "list" will become shorter as the events go on. You're there ...

That track was wicked fast Sunday morning and couldn't believe the times people were turning. Almost everybody that ran Friday and Saturday improved by leaps on Sunday. Congrats to both Mike and Brett for going so quick and this November should be very competitive for everyone that makes the Grand Finale in Scottsdale.

Wish you could have joined us for the back stable BBQ. We had a blast and was cool to hang with tons of friends.

Agreed! This was a fantastic weekend full of cars and great people. The best part was getting to sit down and hang out with some great people that i walk by and smile at in the pits not really knowing who is who. Getting to hang out without trying to keep track of who ran what was a real treat. I see a tradition in the making!
I would also like to say that we had 3 Newman Car Creations vehicles in top 3 spots.
Greg Thurmond's 65 Vette won SM
Me in the 55 Chevy took 3rd in SM
Dave Wheeler's 57 Chevy Truck took 2nd in the Truck class. Great weekend for Car Creations!

If you were not there where is what it looked like from inside the wagon.
