For a 68 Chevelle.. will be installing c5 brakes and Hotchkis Coil spring 1" drop... I will be using the car for street driving and back roads driving and maybe some touring in the near future.

From what I have heard the hotchkis valved Bilsteins would be a good choice and should be budget friendly.

Hotchkis shocks are made by Bilstein for Hotchkis are tuned for Hotchkis springs. If you want easy adjustability, the QA1s are the way to go. Just make sure you match the rears to the front.

Hi, Since you are running our coil springs, you should check out the
HOTCHKIS HPS1000 featuring unique valving specifically designed for the A-Body. We developed the settings through our on track testing and they work fantastically with our other suspension components. You'll find they provide excellent performance at a reasonable price.
