LTX blocks have mirrored sides or are they different?

Those that have done the LT1 /4 swap, are the engine mounts different lengths or mirrored of each other? With the engine centered in the car/ frame, the driver's mount will be 3/4" shorter than the pass side per my current mock up. It'll work, just want to be sure. Started with a pair of Dirty dingo mounts which are mainly scrap metal. Car is a 77 bird. Frame measures near perfect. my relative measurements of engine to frame and engine to body suggest otherwise. When engine is centered w/in the mounts, its 3/8 - 1/2" to the pass side of center of the frame.

I can’t answer your question but I just installed an LT and the engine is shifted to the passenger side. Mounts were supplied in a kit to install and S10 frame under a 46 Chevy pickup. I was a little puzzled by the offset but assumed they did it on purpose for steering clearance. Maybe I am giving them too much credit…. :)

Can you shed a few more bits? Sounds like we are on the trail. Per my understanding, your engine is now off center of the car/ frame due to the mounts? Trans in the tunnel offset as well or do you have the driveline at an angle? Was the OE drivetrain in the S10 center mounted? GM typically has their drivetrains offset 3/4" for steering box clearance, however, that is built into the frame I have found. Thus the drivetrain sits inline with the frame cradle. I moved the engine to center the frame mounts (factory F body clam shells) & I feel that's not proper and it adversely affects header clearance. I'm thinking the crank CL should be in the cradle CL. I don't mind making mounts, just want to be sure I am doing the right thing. Maybe I'm overthinking this. Maybe the aftermarket is clueless. Maybe I'm missing something.

Sorry I don’t know if the S10 was originally offset. The frame mounts and engine mounts were both supplied with the kit. The transmission mount is centered, so it’s the same as it was with the BB Camaros as far as I know.

I don’t think it’s a big deal either way. Whichever works best should be fine.
