Thanks. It is all in the details.[emoji6]
The air intake is just about done. I am waiting on a chromed 3D printed prancing moose like the one in the grill. Greening Auto Company is working on that now. The one in the picture is the grill emblem. The radiator cap needs to be dropped down about 1/2”.

I am happy with how it is turning out. I have also decided to put a radar detector and laser jamming setup on the car. There will be minor metal modifications made to make it work. We plan on using a license plate frame in the rear that will hide the sensors. Working with Musicar Northwest in Portland, OR for that. We will be using an Escort Max CI paired up with AntiLaser Priority jammers.
One comment about the radar/laser jammers... I would be hesitant to do metal/bodywork based on the sensors/jammers. The technology changes often enough that I wouldnt want to be locked into tech that only fits into the piece you fabricated. I think the latest passport Max 360ci is pretty new, so likely wont change for another few years, but just a thought... The sensors work well enough hidden behind grilles or plastic bodywork. If I was a cop, Id pull you over regardless of the speed just to look at this thing :yum:
Thanks for the input. The only mod will be doing is actually hidden behind the license plate. It will have a custom frame where the centers are mounted in the license plate. Here is an example of one they did for a Porsche recently.

The front sensors will be hidden in the grill mash. The escort radar detector will actually be mounted on the skid plate behind the front valance. You won’t even see that. It should be a pretty slick system when it’s complete.
Ahh I thought when you mentioned metal work that it was being flushed into the bodywork somehow... carry on!
I don't know how much research you've done, but the Escort installed radar detectors are about the most out of date out there.
I've done 9500CI's for years, and finally got to do both K40 and Radenso and they are both heads and shoulders above the escort.
In an industry group I'm in on FB, someone asked what we recommended, and I said to stay away from Escort, which resulted
in a conversation with one of the guys from Escort, and when I mentioned that the filtering sucked compared to the K40 or Radenso/ALP systems,
he said it was because they didn't have any filtering. I've also had customers who had used Escort for years, who (once we switched to K40 at the old shop I worked at) complained that they new systems didn't work because they didn't go off all the time. lol. We had a radar gun at work, and could verify that they did.
Also, on the 9500Ci, the rear laser sensor usually fails about a month after the warranty is up.
I'm not intimately familiar with the new 360Max CI, but the 9500CI is not worth using.

Honestly I am going off the the recommendation of the best shop in the Portland area. I have friends with the setup in their cars and swear by it. I am not sure if the model numbers since I don’t have the parts yet but I think it was the Max. Musicar said it was the best performing combo out there and they install a few per month.
Yeah, the guys at Musicar are very good. The 360Max CI is probably better than the 9500ci, but after probably 12 years of installing Escorts and then getting exposed to other brands, it'll be a while before I trust anything Escort. I had no idea how bad they actually were until I got to install other brands. I've been installing car audio/security/radar/etc. for about 25 years now. After all, no one is going to tell you they're selling crap, are they? lol

The rear quarter windows are progressing nicely. The body shop made mold of the windshield that we will be cutting down. It should look pretty good when it is done.

Just to clarify.... you're using a (cut down) windshield as the new quarter glass?
Yep. Took a little searching to find the right contour for the match.

Wow, that's pretty cool, I never would have thought that was possible.
Just curious, what vehicle did it come from?
It was a GTX.
Plymouth?
Yep.
Wow. Such an odd "find"... of all the available front windshields.
Seems like that would have been a needle in a haystack.
My glass guy will take a mold of what is needed and go to junk yards to find a car that will work. He is really good and I believe he did the glass for the 2017 Riddler winner that was built by Steve’s here is Portland.
The door glass will be a cut down Ford SUV front door glass. All the glass will be safety glass since tempered glass can’t be cut down.
The Volvo is progressing nicely. They have started working on the gaps, the prancing moose for the air intake is done and the license plate frame that holds the radar/jammers is about to be made. I am also picking out the leather samples.
I want to get some opinions about the rear license plate frame. What font style do you prefer. I plan on naming the car Bullwinkle.

The current Volvo font, would be cool.
