Hey guys. I have a 66 Chevelle Pro Touring build. I am running 18s front and 20s rear right now and I'm thinking about changing. What do you think is the ideal wheel and tire size for aesthetics as well as function? Thanks

18s front and rear!
Call me biased, but I kinda like 18's all around. Fronts are 9" , will be 275's when I'm done, currently 255.Rears are 335/35/18 on 12" rims
I agree. 19-20” doesn’t look right on a chevelle or Camaro IMO.
18”. 245/275 or whatever fits. I run 275/295 on my second gen Camaro on 18x10s.
I like the look!! What are the specs on these wheels and tires???
235/45 & 275/40 18’s

14" look best. If only you could find tires like we used to have.. 15" are the best looking. Those big wheels are out of scale on these older cars..
On my 69 el Camino I have the SC&C Stage 3, Lee 14:1 with Spohn delsphere control arms in the back and the handling is amazing using plain old 225/70r15 Cooper Cobras..
I am using Porterfield pads and brake shoes with the stock disc/drum set up and it stops good enough for me..

Hi. Did those fit without any modifications? I like those sizes.
hey jim. just curious the back spacing you figured out for the wheels and whether you had to modify the frame to keep the 10' and wider tires on rear from rubbing? thks .

Other than rolling the rear fender lips, yes. The 295s are a very tight fit though.
Im not Jim, but im guessing you're asking me. The rear backspacing is 5.00" BUT My rearend is narrower than a stock 67 a-body, so my rear backspacing is unique to this car. The 10" wheel and 295 is a pretty tight fit. In my opinion, fitting this size requires wheel lips mods, and a wheel fitment tool to make sure you are getting it exactly right. The backspacing on the fronts are 4.75" Hope this helps.
I went with 19’s and 20’s on my 65. Maybe 18’s would handle a little better, but I don’t track the car. I like the way the wheels fill out the wheel wells.
Hey ShelteredChevelle?
Great set up with those wheels and tires.
What offset/backspacing are you using?
Thanks. This is the finished car. I went with A.R. VNCL405- 18 x 8.5 w/ 4.5 BS Front 18 x 12 w/4" BS rear. My rear housing is 56" wide. 335/30-18 & 265/60-18
Looks very nice, I looking for a 66 or 67. If you know of any let me know
