Evening all,
I have a 2013 L92 6.2 and I am looking at salvage yard 6L80E transmissions. Is there any difference between the 5.3 and 6.2 6L80E's?
My search on car-part comes up with both 5.3 and 6.2 are the same application.
Thanks.

As far as I know they are the same physical part but the tune in the TCM May be different.

Thanks for the reply.
I've done some LS swaps with a 4L60E. It's my first time with the 6L80E.
The 6l80 will physically be the same transmission, however, some came equipped with a slip yoke, and others with a flange for the driveshaft depending on application. Regardless, mixing and matching engine with transmission, you will have to have someone program the computer to accept the engine you're using, and alter the gear ratio and tire sizes that it is seeing.
Thanks for the info.
It's going into a Jeep JK so it will be a 4x4 6L80E.
Yeah both the engine and trans will need to be tuned after the install.
Installing a 6L80...what trans mount do I use? Energy Suspension part number or ??? Thanks
Sorry to sidetrack the topic, I'm about to order a 4L80E from Jake's in August. Would a 6L80E physically be any larger? I need to cram this into a 1st gen F-body without modifying the trans tunnel. I'm told the 4L80 just BARELY fits and will need 90-degree fittings to do so...
Thanks!
The 6l80 is much bigger and you'll need to modify the tunnel for it definitely.
The 4l80 will fit with banjo fittings.
Thanks for the help with the mount!
