Check out this episode of Engine Masters-- they test a ton of different air cleaner options. https://youtu.be/EkpsydS8JXI
If I remember correctly, the best-performing "normal" one is where the lid is also an air filter, like these: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/e...yABEgKCQvD_BwE
The worst was the fly-eye triangle one.
Well howdy! This is the first post Ive made here as a new guy. I have a 1972 Buick XGS 455 and my "pet" project currently is a 1964 Buick Skylark special deluxe. I picked it up last December as "Grammas car" with 33,000 miles with a V6 and a 3 on the tree. Its now sporting a built 455 monster with a 4 speed. I just picked up an aluminum ribbed air filter with a 2" tall element. It looks kinda art deco but works in keeping with the theme of the car. Its totally original and run in its original patina; stored since 1980. Been driving it around the block working out the bugs. It looks cruddy but is all new underneath... dual brake system, new suspension and tire etc etc. Im gonna try posting a few pics. I am in Two Rivers, Wi. Enjoy some pics guys... Bill

Anyone looking into a nice carb air cleaner, check out the ‘84-‘85 Mustang/Capri air cleaners. They’re low-profile dual-intake air cleaners designed for Holley carburetors from the factory. They also come with an aluminum top. This is probably one of the best air cleaners you can put on a Holley style carburetor.
Dave,
I’m sure you thought of this but do you plan on maybe selling your setup without the shaker attachment for non-T/A guys?
yes I have and I can.
