Note: Due to a technical issue, PT Garages are presently view-only, meaning existing garages cannot be edited, and new garages cannot be created for the time being. We appreciate the irony that a website dedicated to old cars is having trouble due to a piece of software from 2012. In our defense, software rusts much faster than metal.

While we work on fixing and improving the system, we invite you to look through the nearly 400 garages that are already on the site (which can be searched using the "Search PT Garages" link above), and to check out the Project Updates and Multimedia & Photography forums for more great builds.

1953 Studebaker Pro Touring: There are cars, there are good cars and then there are great cars, this is a Great car…. Purchased in 2001 From the Peterson Automotive Museum this 1953 was a one owner example from Southern California, A rust free, Bondo free straight example. Being a 1953 The car was not up to the Driving quality of a Modern car, with such excellent lines and contours it was decided to turn this 65 year old car into a modern driving machine, So 5 years and a quarter of a Million dollars later we have this high quality, excellent driving machine that is available to a new owner, this car has never been seen at shows, featured in any magazines and is being offered for the first time to some lucky person. This car was a professional build and not assembled In Some ones residential garage by a weekend hobbyist, If any one reading has built or had a car built you know the time and money that is need to complete a car of this caliber, this car is finished and its always that last 10 Percent that makes the difference when finishing the build.
The car was totally disassembled, stripped and then the body worked to maximize smoothness and perfect the factory panel fit, Finished in a Metallic Silver exterior the paint and body is award winning, Some other little add-ons are Kindig door handles, Corvette mirrors and vents cut into the hood. All glass, weather stripping, stainless and chrome replaced, polished and new hardware throughout the car. We put the finished body over a new Paul Neumann chassis, these chassis are usually done on early corvettes and don’t think there are too many Studebakers running around with this chassis, we put all modern Corvette Running gear under the Chassis and powered the Stude w a New LS3 Motor Matched to a New L460E automatic trans, the power is excellent, the reliability is second to none this car drives like a modern car and is just as reliable as a 2018 Corvette. The stance is killer.
The interior is Red Leather, it contrasts very well with the Brilliant silver exterior, The Front and rear seats are out of a 1964 Ford Thunderbird, covered in High quality red leather including the headliner. The barreled wood trim is carried throughout the interior cabin, other modern upgrades include instrument all having been converted to electronic, Modern sound system w GPS back up camera, a custom cut down 59 Impala steering wheel, New carpet over a complete dyna mated floor, doors, and trunk. Vintage AC an heat, power windows, With less than 250 Miles since its completion.
