Sorry...I had to do it! :)
No expert here, but my painter has been trying to talk me into installing a DI system. He swears by it for washing your ride. Would be curious to know if others use them?

Soap and water? :dunno: :rotfl:
You may get more responses if you were asking how to get all the dirt and rocks out from under your car or how to get cone scuffs out after some off track excursions.
Goof-off or a light compound works well for cone scuffs on my car :6gears:

The DI system which usually goes hand in hand with the RO system (Reverse Osmosis) and DI (Deionization). I use one when I auto fill my saltwater aquarium. My system puts out 99% pure water. (no TDS, total dissolved solids). That is why a lot of car washes have a spot free rinse. You will have to have a "whole house " system to be large enough. Can get costly for one that big. Mine puts out 100 gallons per day (capable of, I don't use that much). But at this size it only comes out as a small stream from a 1/4" hose. That's why you'd need a bigger one. I think it was Turtle Wax that use to have a hose end sprayer that had filters in it that put out pretty good water too. I probably still have one of those somewhere...

I use quick detailer and a micro cloth. I try to avoid water on the paint unless the dirt is really bad.

Have you ever tried Dri-Wash? http://www.driwashsolutions.com/
They have a pretty good Aluminum polish too.

Yep, me too. Been doing this for years, on a couple of cars....always look good. Be sure to change the microfiber cloths regularly as you go.

I use Safeway spray foam window cleaner from Sam's Club... 11 years, still looks like new... Base coat-clear coat is a strong as nails..
Anybody remember Simonizing Lacquer paint (with the lead)? It looked beautiful, like a pool of water but didn't last.

It works pretty good. I like the idea of not getting the car sopping wet. (and have water seeping out of the cracks) It is kind of expensive.
