I would like to build a PT/autocross truck. I am about to purchase a 1950 Chevy. I am thinking about buying a complete C5 Corvette drivetrain and suspesion. My question is does anyone know if it would be more inexpensive to have a custom frame built for the truck or would it make more sense to just box and adapt the current frame from the truck? Any help would be appreciated. I really would like to end up with something like this http://www.speedhunters.com/2012/08/the-drift-truck/

It would make more sence to start with a new chassis.

We make a chassis for these that perform like a sports car, check out our autocross vids on YouTube. "Schwartz 1949 Chevy"

Yea man I saw that truck about 2 months ago. It's setting on c5 suspension (sweet). I am building a 51 Chevy on a S10 frame can't wait till I finish it.

an updated chassis will put you leaps and bounds ahead of trying to update the factory one.
