Ok gents, found myself in an interesting situation.... just bought a 97 mustang that is built! Good for about 700 hp with the boost at 10-12lbs...The driveline is brand new....and built right. I was thinking of keeping it for summer then selling it as it is a convert, but then got to thinking about swapping the driveline into my 69 Fastback.....the trans is a built Art Carr...and a great rearend/axles.....has anyone done a 4.6L swap into a classic Mustang? I did a LS swap into my 68 Camaro.....and I am more familiar with Chevy.....anyone have any insight on this....did a search, could not find much......anyone?

Have no idea but I'd like to add my encouraging words and say yes I'm into following that build thread.

The 69s have a little more room between the shock towers than the older Stangs but it's still a really tight fit. It's a swap that has been done many times before so all the parts you'll need are available but it's definitely not the walk in the park that an Ls1/68 Camaro is. Good luck with it, it'll be an awesome car when you're done!!?m

77418The LS swap was not bad...but this engine is big.....not my first choice per say, but 650-700hp.....and it is for the wife's car....may have to do it....

I think one of the users on here did it, maybe Schwartz Performance.
Also sent you a pm with info.

lots of these swaps have been done on 69stang.com. I know at minimum you have to swap out the shock towers to the notched big block kind but I would ditch the towers all together and go with a Mustang II style front end.

We did a 5.0L Coyote swap, not bad at all. Wiring is going to be the only problem for you- eliminating wires unneeded, and tuning those things out! Just like any EFI swap.

Kevin Tetz did a supercharged 4.6L in his '66 using our chassis, you could do some searches on that and see what other parts he used??
