I purchased a painless wiring kit on CL.. it was new but was for a newer GM. I am able to figure out all but 1 wire... My ignition switch has both a purple and purple and white wire... I believe I have a home for the purple... what should the purple and white trace out to? Also my classic car wiring diagram does not have the purple and white wire depicted.
Thanks for your help! https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2007/12/beers-1.gif

The P/W wire may be for a secondary "accessory" circuit. Check the continuity with the ign switch in run AND pulled back to the ACC position. Also check the orange wire as this should be the primary ACC circuit.
A lot of newer vehicles have "rear heat" and this wire would be used to power up that circuit. If that's the case it is an excellent source of power for anything you want to run on the ACC side.
