I'm measuring for wheels right now on my first gen. I would like to go with 4.75" BS in the front to tuck the tires in under the fender lip but I'll be within a 1/4" of the outer tie rod end. What is an acceptable amount of clearance between the wheel/tire and the outer tie rod end?
Thanks,
Jaime

Anyone? Even if you don't know what the minimum clearance is let me know what yours is to at least give me an idea.
Thanks!

I dont think that will be enough. As you turn the wheel the tie rod will move closer to the wheel. There was also another thread on here the said someone was getting 1/2" deflection in his wheels.

When you push the car hard into a corner, you are going to get some wheel deflection ... AND ... the tire is going to roll around the rim. Unfortunately, I can't tell you how much.
But 1/4" seems WAY too close.

Thanks for the input, I guess I will go the safe route and give it some extra room.
bite the bullet like I did and get a ridetech tru-turn kit. then you can tuck any size wheel up to 10" under that fender. its much cheaper to get the look and hardware that you want the first time than it is to not be happy and redo it later.
