265 is wide for an 8" wheel - 245 is a better choice. Also a 275 fits best on a 9.5" wide wheel.

Good looking wheels - love some of the TSW designs

I wanted to stuff as much tire under the Elco as possible

In that case, try to get as wide of a wheel as possible too - if you can get a 9" wheel to fit on the front with a 265 width tire, go for it... Rear too - 295 needs a 10" or 10.5" wheel.

I'm not aware of the optimal wheel specs for your car - talking in general here...

I have 5 5/8 from the brake drum face to the frame, and 6 inch from drum face to wheel lip. I was running GTA Rims Front 4/1/2 BS with 3/16 spacer 255/50/16, actual 10 3/8 wide. 10 inch rims need to cut the frame for sure !!
