Ok guys I really want to buy some wheels for my car. I have a 69 camaro with minor rear lip work. I was hell bent on getting some 17" torque thrust IIs when I noticed that I could score some cragers for way cheaper. I am looking to purchase them from summit racing, only because I usually get my parts within 2 days. I am trying to get my car finished for a show in 2 weeks. Getting these wheels ordered will take a load off my mind. Here are the sizes and options that I have found on summits web site.

TT II polished
ARE-405-7956155 Wheel, Series 405, 17 in. x 9.5 in., 5 x 4.75 in. Bolt Circle, 5 1/2 in. Backspace $386.99

ARE-5057863 Wheel, Series 505, 17 in. x 8 in., 5 x 4.75 in. Bolt Circle, 4 3/4 in. Backspace $269.88

Crager SS Chrome
CRR-617934 Wheel, Series 61, 17 in x 9 in., 5 x 4.75 in. Bolt Circle, 4.5 in. Backspace $209.95

CRR-617934P Wheel, Series 61, 17 in x 9 in., 5 x 4.75 in. Bolt Circle, 5.5 in. Backspace $209.95

CRR-617834P Wheel, Series 61, 17 in x 8 in., 5 x 4.75 in. Bolt Circle, 4.5 in. Backspace $199.95

As you can see I can get the rear cragers for almost the price of one TTII! I dont mind the chrome finish over the polished. My car is Black with no stainless trim other then the windows (might have it painted body color) and chrome bumpers. If I went with the cragers what rear spacing would be the best? 5.5 or 4.5? will a 8 inch front rim with 4.5 spacing still fit? car is lowered with hotchkis front springs. Im leaning towards the Cragers only because of the $$ factor. Let me know what you think, Thanks for stayin with me guys.

Isn't the Cragar SS a steel wheel and the TTII aluminum??

I bet there's a big difference in weight.

And you could be different and go with some Centerlines, they are pretty cheap too

Just my 0.02$

I would look into the Weld version of the Cragar SS: http://www.weldracing.com/Weld_Racing/wheels/200_cragar225.shtm

damn those welds are just as much as the TTIIs. I gues Ill just go with the TTIIs almost $400 for one is pretty expensive! how much to budnkis run if Im going to be spending 300-400 each Id like some more options. I go to huntington beach almost every week to get parts from classic industries (i love making tips :icon996: ) Ill stop by there and see about pricing.

What Rims did you go with? I am going with the Cragars:17x8 in front and the 17x9 in the rear. From what i can tell the rear at 5.5 B.S. won't be a problem with 255/40/17 (i'm going to try 275's if I can) but what I want to know is if a 4.5 B.S. in the front would be better than a 5.5 do to possible rubbing issues on the inside when running a 245/45/17. Is rubbing on the inside front while turning sharp a bigger problem than rubbing on the outside (fenderwell). I too am going to be running Hotchkis 1.5" drop coils that I will probably cut a few more coils off of as well. If you have found out any other issues or info that would help me I would appreciate a reply. Thanks for any help! Go with the Cragars and save some bucks! :help!:

The Eagle series 211 is identical to the TTII's except cheaper. They are so identical you can bolt on American racing center caps and you can't tell the difference looking at them, but your wallet will know.

try www.newstalgiawheel.com for TTIIs; I believe their 17X8s are only 240-ish. Free ship for online orders, too.

17x9.5 (same part # you're looking for) $303.00

17x8 (again, same part #) $243.00

Any feedback would be great as the Wheel fitment page does not seem to totally apply here. Thanks for any info.
