Tim,

The American Autocross Series has some of the best autocross drivers and cars in the country. Nice and open courses and very well run also. You will have a blast. See you then. Bringing your Camaro?

Im hoping to hit both the AAX and Sac SCCA events the following weekend. Little bit of a haul, so Marina is all based on whether I can get the AC working in my truck by then.

I'm not going to make it to Marina, I was talked into going to the Optima Faceoff instead.

If the Hobaugh Camaro or Corvette will be there, I will go to watch (and learn). I get free rent down in them parts...

What a Great day at Marina on Saturday. The coarse layout was perfect for larger vehicles and the surface was really good. A big THANKS to Rodney for all his advice and allowing me to ride along for a couple of laps. My truck has a new shock package (Hotchkis/Bilstein and QA1's) and it performed very well with a best time of 42.529. Here's a couple of pic's.

I was there but ran in the afternoon. I guess I should have shown up early to meet a few people.

Maybe next time,

I was there on Saturday, but too late to see the two Camaros above in action (I saw Rodney's parked, and it looked very fast/well sorted). Everything that came later was pretty awesome (and quite diverse, including a hyper-fast Porsche GT3 that never lost an ounce of grip), though, and I got lots of great info from many of the old timers, none of whom have names I can remember. When it comes to an autocross, guys with '60s Corvettes and Miatas alike can provide very good conversation on the topic of what works and what doesn't.

What was really cool to see was this: The difference between a '64 Corvette with a very stock (carefully improved/very well driven) configuration and several full-race vintage Camaros/Corvettes/Miatas on the track. The '64 Corvette was a killer, as was this weird '70s Mazda with a purported twin-turbo/twin rotor setup...

Note to self: The use of flip-flops does invite intelligent use of sunblock. The tops of my feet now have blisters, but the event was very well worth the trip (and current discomfort).

Scott - Congrats on your Prepared 1 class win and overall best time! My truck placed second in E Street Prepared and I was happy to see my Indexed Time was decent.

Thank You George. If you look in the results Tom and Matt Ellam would have crushed me but had to run out of run out of group and the points didn't count. We made changes every run and I know he has a list of other modifications to still make to the car.

This weekend is usually the BEST AAS event they put on. The courses usually get opened up even more than usual and some of the nicer faster cars show up. I should be there both days as long as I remember sun block.
