Opinions on firebird grille idea...

Was messing around with photoshop and came up with this. Opinions? BTW this is not my car

I think it looks pretty sweet... You'd want to keep that theme around the car though.. Maybe incorporate it somehow in the rear, and interior too.

Like the black, but not the add on mesh with silver hardware showing. I have a 67 bird im about to start restoring & thinking about a gunmetal powdercoating on all the trim, bumpers, door handles, subframe, etc. Scott

Sorry, it looks a bit like you're out for some bondage fun and games. The black and the mesh is fine...loose the silver studs. :)

I think the idea will work if you follow the body lines more closely, there are a lot more curves than the photoshop picture accounts for

Not a fan of the chrome hardware either. The lower openings should have rounded corners to match the grille.
Did a quick Paint edit. Blacking out the hardware and rounding the corners...

Yeah Mark that does look a lot better. I keep going back and forth with the look I want but I think the blacked out trim/bumpers looks pretty good. Don't see it much on the 67/68 firebirds.

I'll agree with NO silver studs, Black mesh can look good if properly shaped & the right choice of mesh May want to new hide marker lights & such behind the mesh & flush the original openings.
Even mesh behind the factory grill can sometimes add something with out looking overdone.
A little more food for thought here on meshing , google pics of the rear of the silver concept stingray used in the transformers movie. Tail lights are behind mesh & gives a real sinister look.

Would like to see it with the grill shell body color, I think that would look good with the exposed hardware. ..
