Anyone running 20x15s on a 70 chevelle . I know this isn't a popular touring tire but I need traction bad. I'm wondering if there are any tricks to fitting them other then back halving the car and building new frame takes and full tubs. Would be cool if anyone tubed the stock wheelhouses to fit something that wide . Looking at Micky Thompson 29 x 18 r20s

I have helped a number of customers with 20X12-15 under Chevelles like yours. I also have built one myself with 20X14's.
You do need to back half the car and tub to do it.

We used a 20x14 wheel on a 70 Chevelle here, and have room for more. It has our full chassis which offers narrowed rear rails, but we minitubbed it about 4".

On this one we raised the area above the rear end to allow over-the-axle exhaust

If you go the frame & tub route, you can put the 15" wide tires under there. If you don't go that route, and you end up putting the biggest tires that will fit, there are other ways of getting more traction to the rear tires. Specifically, suspension mods & tuning to transfer more weight on acceleration or initial launch.
