So using Holley's adaptor plates to mount my LQ4 translates to 5 degrees pointing down with a factory tranny mount. This is so common of a swap someone must have run into this? I cannot figure out how to overcome this? I cannot push the tranny up into the tunnel anymore without cutting.

So at the moment, the tranny is pointing down 5 degrees and the transmission is point down 2. I can shim the rear-end up to something like +2

Any suggestions? Something here is gotta help. Should I just cut up the tunnel?

This does not compute. Care to rephrase?

What is keeping u from shimming the tail of the trans up a bit? I mean where & what part of the trans is hitting the tunnel? Are you using stock subframe? Holley has several plates that move the motor to several different positions. (some plates acutally raise the motor but not sure if any of the holley plates do this.) I have been able to shim both a 4L60 & T56 up a bit in several swaps. If the bellhousing is hitting where the tunnel meets the firewall u can do a little sledge hammer work to gain some clearance. I was told the best way to do it (the right way) is to raise the tunnel. I have yet to do that on any of the swaps I did, but if I build another from scratch im going to raise the tunnel. Scott

I've got Edelbrock mount plates myself, but each of the brands are slightly different. The Holley plates raise the engine 1/4 higher than the Edelbrock plates. I don't know if you have room to lower the engine, plus I'm not sure 1/4 will make a huge difference, but that is another option.

With the frame rails level, I mounted my engine and trans. on 4°.

I have leaf springs and did nothing to change pinion angle.
When I checked the angles yoke to yoke the car sitting on it's wheels I had 3° on the trans and 2° on the pinion (pointing down 1°) I have been told that 1° difference on a leaf sprung car is a good thing.
I had my car over 120 mph at the Southern Slam and had no drive-line vibration.
I hope this helps you out.

So sorry bout this. For some reason I am not getting the email notifications.....completely forgot about this post.

To answer Andrews statement, transmission is -5 degrees and the rear end is -2 degrees. I hope this clarify's my statement.

I have already done some hammering of the tunnel. I still have not resolved this issue. My thought is to go with another style mount that eliminates the factory GM style mount, but it still is troubling me......
