Hey Guys
I went to my first autocross school on Saturday and we got to help clean the parking lot, make the track and then race it.
Met some great guys. Most of the cars were Subarus and imports...(not that there's anything wrong with that) Then there were 3 of us with American muscle. There was my Blazer which I now call the cone-magnet and course-evader, a beautiful 69 camaro (we think John Deere green) and a 1991 Syclone from hell.
If I can figure out how to flip the videos I took you can see this beast eat up the track.
My truck on the other hand, I got it timed at 6:30 that morning before I got to the track by my buddy Gerald, and when I pulled up it got a lot of attention as the stance looked good, the engine with the new blower sounded menacing, in short the blazer "looked" like a contender... until I ran the truck.
Lack of posi, real tires and any decent suspension made the blazer handle like an old farm truck. so embarassing. I am proud to say that I came in 14th out of 14 racers.
I can only get better right? I'm not complaining..the organizers and all the guys there were great and we all made new friends. I can only get better and all the parts I need to at least handle like the syclone are sitting in my garage. So in a few weeks I might get 13th out of 14.
Here are a few pictures I took.
76004This guy Jesse bought this car from someone who had something to do with John Deere and what you can't see in the picture is how good of a paintjob it really is.
76005This guy Nolan is a forced induction specialist at one of the local speedshops Moretto Motorsports. This truck has just over 600 hp and with a bit more practice time for Nolan and maybe stickier tires, this guy will beat the competition.
