Question on tranny out of 02 C5.

My friend has a wrecked, thanks to his tuner, 02 C5 vert with what a nice ls2 stroker 434 ci in it. He is selling the car for parts. Can I use the tranny in my 67 Camaro 396 car, and what all would be needed? I'm not having much luck with searching here. Any links to conversion kits for this type of app would be great. I'm not even sure the C5 6sp can be uses since it's a rear mount transmission, but not sure that makes a difference or not. Let me know, thanks!!!

While I've not done it, I can't possibly see it being cost effective. At the bare minimum you'd need to replace the input shaft, output shaft, and tail housing at the trans plus a bell housing for use in your car. That right there will make it more expensive than finding a good "normal" trans.

If you're talikng about mounting directly to the motor, Rhino has it right, not cost effective.
If you're talking about swapping over the torque tube, transaxle, IRS....cool project, take pics.
