Heads for 302 chevy

What do you guys think would be a good cylinder head to use for a 1969 302 sbc with a stock spec short block.
11.5:1 compression
.485/.485 and 254/254 @.050 cam

don't overlook the Vortec design heads. I've seen build ups with Edlebrocks E200 that made over 500HP with a mild cam. I beleive those heads run about 1200/set ready to bolt on.

Do you want to extort it's zillion RPM capability, or do you want to try to inject some low end torque into it? Z28s will turn some Rs, We have had some with the off road cam, a little porting and headers that would turn north of 7500 no problem. however, you had to slide the clutch to launch it even with 3.73s.
Considering you cubes and cam, I would look for something in the 180cc range. I am not brand specific on little heads.

I would be looking at the AFR 195. They are pretty much the only heads out there that will flow the numbers you need to complement that cam, and still maintain good velocity down low in the RPM range
You will need to have those angle milled down to 64cc if you want to maintain that high of a compression ratio.

Yes! I also have an offroad cam, but I'm not sure if i'm going to use it or not. How does it compare with the stock one in street driving?

If you have an off road cam and want to rev it, and do not care about grunt, i like the AFR 195s also.
The off road cam is fine on the street. But then again, your talking to a guy that runs a 271/279@50, .682 lift on the street, in a small block.
