I have a 67' GTO. I have a pretty nasty driveline vibration above 3000 RPM or so in 3rd 4th and 5th gear, specifically if im hammering on it. Its a low winding 455, richmond 5 speed 1:1 5th tranny with a 3.0 rear gear in a Moser 9"

I used to have a moderate vibration at highway speed, above 65 or so. I changed out my upper rear control arms to a QA1 adjustable with some Johnny joints. It seemed to take care of the highway speed vibrations, and it eliminated what seemed to be a bind in the rear suspension. Now I only get it when im hammering on it in 3rd 4th and 5th.

I have a stock driveshaft with newer u joints but Im thinking that might be the culprit. Is there any easy way to tell? Any opinions?

I had the same problem with my 64 chevelle
Look at the drive shaft shop they offer a shaft with a cv joint that helped my vibration.
