I have a 69 Camaro and I'm trying to decide if I want to go with Rack and Pinion or stick with my current steering box. Any opinions?

what engine? when i switched to the rack Setup (steeroids) i never thought iŽd run into so much Header issues and also oil pan clearance (big chevy) now with the LS everything worked out fine (ats road race pan and heddman LS swap headers).

I called about the ATS pan late last year. They're not offering it anymore.
It didn't sell well enough for another run of them.

it depends what motor, and what rack. we have been using the Unisteer Rack for years now with no real issues. We have headers that work properly with the rack and steering shaft. the ls is a bit trickier but we can make it work also.

Stick with the box. If you want to upgrade go with a better box. No tear-up on the rest of the car and a good box will be just as responsive as a rack.

Unisteer rack bolts right in, new steering arms included. I was able to make bump steer VERY minimal. Seems simpler than a box and linkage too. When upgrading every other part of your suspension why not get rid of the box? I can't think of a single performance car in the last 20 years that has used a box...

do a lot of homework and find someone that has done it before with your same car and drive it. maybe these other guys made it work but i had no luck with it and a good box is pretty good.

I did the rack and pinion in my 69 fit like a charm and 1/4 of the weight as the box and leakage
