I work for the Midas in Boomington IN, well my shops owner helps run his cousins shop a european/japanese shop. They talk about not making money here and want me to go down to this other shop. I would be only tech there and should get some sort of raise. I helped out down there yesterday, dont know if Im just set in my ways but it didnt FEEL like a fit.
My choice is stay, possibly have this shop close or get laid off maybe later on. Doubtfull.
One friend said to throw big paycheck requirements out and specific days worked and see what sticks.
My dilema is that it just doesnt feel right.
BUT is that me resisting change due to having left one job badly, then being off 4 months then getting this one. I feel better this year nd feel like its gonna get better HERE. and really dont want to change places as moving tools boxes is a BITCH.
Any thoughts, observations, etc.

Feel is a big thing you need to trust. I've walked away from job offers that required month-long application/interview processes, without working a day; part of the problem was that it took this long to get a real look at how things were run, and how people behaved/were required to behave according to corporate policies. If people are not happy, or act like automatons (and you're a real person who needs to be a real person on a daily basis), it's probably not a good place to be, and is just waiting to implode; many post offices have gone wrong like this...
On the other side, the greatest enemy of most people is comfort. Don't eat dirt because it's easier than learning something new.

bI have been burned moving for better money, a few times. I took a jon back in 07 ,stayed neartly 2 yrs and got hammered down financially so bad its taken me till NOW to feel I have over come.
AND they want me to start down there Monday, another big ding, ding, ding FLAG.
Yeah current shop is slow but it has good chance to bring it self back,,we just have to tweak a little.
Still praying on it, my gut is saying WAIT, dont move.

I have been down this road twice in the last year. It is such a difficult decision. Keep praying on it and hope for discernment and peace.

Well owner was telling me my 30% production wasnt high enough, so I nailed him with the fact that if I stand around doing nothing Im not gonna have a high percentage. Back last fall he pulled in a lower grade tech that used to work for the Plainfield store, never understood WHY we needed three techs, as business was still slower from all road construction and needed to cycle back to east side of Bloomington getting back busier. Then that tech went back to Plainfield, they hired another tech, bit he used to work there AND he is much slower,,,but willing to listen and learn,,other guy was stubborn and pigheaded, would ask question or for help then not use that info at first.
So I worked the one Thursday then back to Midas for Fri/Sat. Decided it wasnt for me after the Thursday. Still had me help out Mon/Tue. This was two weeks ago thur., I then came back over in evenings as Midas is open till 7 and spent couple hrs getting my new/used Buick Regal ready for trans swap.
Came back to Midas on Wed. Last week, then worked last Thur. on my day off AND they decided to send one of the lube techs that had graduated from Tech school (Wyo Tech/Ohio) down.
Turned a 48+hourly rate check the split week, this weeks check was on a 25+ FRH(flat rate) check which 25FRH is where my FR starts.
This week I looked for current week, IF its current, Im sitting at 19+ plus today and Sat.
Also figured out generic Aleve gel caps from Whale-Mart work pretty good for me!
Oh and drove Buick with new/used trans since Sat. So far I think it needs the TCC solenoid changed, Ill probably do all 4 , TCC, EPC,2 shift sol,,may even do what Sonax valve updates I can without removing and replacing Valve body.
Odd thing is I am busy, feeling better from my wreck , still waiting on some settlement stuff.
But it sure is cool to PROVE boss wrong, that I can turn hour if given chance.
Now to move on and get some project work done!
