spal fan sensor

I am getting everything ready to put my carbed 5.3 in my camaro and can not figure out how I am going to use my fan. I have a spal fan and relay kit. The fan sensor is 3/8 and I can not seem to find an adapter to put it in the head. Is there a way to get a different sensor that is metric I can install. I believe it is a 12mm, I am stuck and have searched LS1tech and here looking, Thanks for any help

I dont think you will find an adapter to fit a 3/8 pipe to the head, you would have to use multiple pipe adapters to get it to fit, and that is really going to look like hell. I would consider drilling out the hole with a 9/16 drill and use a pipe tap to thread the hole so you can install that sending unit properly.

They come in many autometer kits, I'd feel pretty confident saying that they could likely be purchased separately.
I do know that at one point in time S&P sold one pretty cheap. It's been a few years so I'm not sure if it's still available.

I had the same issue and drilled and tapped the pass head for the 3/8" sensor. I could not find a 160 degree switch anywhere that was metric. Just drill it and you will be good to go.

Thanks for the help guys. I guess I better break out the drill. I look at s&p and it looks like that adapter was 14.99. I will just drill it out and tap thanks for the help
