I have been lurking on the forum for quite some time now and have finaly decided to post up the build on my el camino. this is my first car and has gone through a lot of changes over the years, I have kept it in pretty good shape by taking care of what small portions of rust it had and replacing a lot of components. The most recent addition to the car was the 6.0 iron block with forged internals, backed by a 4l80e. After about 1000 miles on the motor I have decided it is time to tear the car apart and finaly finish the body work and paint the car for the upcoming GM Carlisle event. I will be doing a lot of suspension work while the frame is separated from the body as well as paint and some engine work.

I will be replacing all control arms with tubular components. I already have the umi lowers as well as QA1 front coilovers that will be getting replaced with the adjustable versions to match my rear coilovers. The 10 bolt is getting rebuilt for now, its been having some wicked noise and vibration for about 4 years now. I will keep updating as everything gets done, I already have a room full of parts awaiting the time to be installed, and more on the way and to be ordered

got a few more pictures to upload later...cars going together and will be painted soon hopefully...its mostly missing a good set of rims, and I work for a tire company so I have any choice of Bridgestone/Firestone tire I want for a great price...just having trouble deciding on rims

the underbody had been coated with bedliner then painted over to match the body and firewall. I got rid of the ctsv oil pan that was hanging almost 2 inches below for a moroso sheetmetal one to add clearance. got mostly umi suspension on the car, except for a few odds and ends. coilovers installed all the way around. so far factory brakes but would like to upgrade when I have a set of rims. frame had been boxed and stripped down and coated with rust bullet then metallic silver paint with clear. also in process of fabricating my 2.5" exhaust with flowmaster, should make the 6.0 sound good!!!

will get some older pictures of the 6.0 build up soon aswell

just a quick update since the car has been driving. got some 275/35r18 Bridgestone Potenza re970s on all 4 corners. engine bay and intake were painted the color the car is going. Also managed to find me a good deal on some grand sport front and rear calipers (6 and 4 piston) just need to get me a set of good rotors and my hubs and brackets and I can have them bolted on.
