Hey everyone, I was hoping for a show of support on this topic.

I am currently searching for a set of wheels for my '69 Nova and came across the Mickey Thompson Street Comp SC-5 wheel - see link:

http://www.mickeythompsontires.com/wheels.php?item=SC5

I feel as though it is a great looking pro-touring wheel and the price is reasonable. Only problem is they don't offer it in a 5x4.75 bolt pattern. I e-mailed their tech support to inquire if they have plans to offer it in the 5x4.75 pattern. Here's the correspondence:

Subject: Web Question: Street Comp Wheels
Does Mickey Thompson plan on offering the Street Comp wheels in 5×4.75 bolt pattern in the future?

Thanks - Frank

At this time we are not. I will forward your input for future consideration.

Thanks,
Shaun Sparks

Subject: RE: Web Question: Street Comp Wheels

I'm pretty surprised by that - I know of at least 3 other people that said they would have considered that wheel had it come in a 5 x 4.75 bolt pattern.
Doesn't MT feel as though they are leaving out a huge chunk of the market by not offering these wheels to all the GM guys?
If I started a thread on ProTouring.com and it showed enough support, would it bring about that bolt pattern?
Thanks - Frank

I’m not sure exactly how they determine what needs to come out with certain products. I have forwarded your request to the correct department for future consideration. Hopefully they will feel as you do and come out with it for you and others.
Thanks again,
Shaun Sparks

So, if there are any GM guys out there interested in this wheel for their ride, please post here and I will forward the link for this thread to Shaun at Mickey Thompson.

Call them. I'm not saying this is the case here but often times you will get 3 different answers from the technical dept. from the same company. It says right there that they are designed for American muscle cars. Maybe they meant 120.65 which would be correct for your car. It cannot hurt to confirm this.

I saw the 5x120mm, I believe that is the modern metric pattern for say the 2010 and new Camaro, plus it is only offered in 20" diameter - which I feel is way too big for good handling and autcross duty.

I will try call them direct to see if I can have them machine a set of 18x9 and 18x10.5 in the bolt pattern I need.

Nice Chevelle by the way - love the LS swap.

I've pretty much given up on finding any decent looking larger rims in a chevy bolt pattern that aren't astronomically priced. I have a set of 1" thick adapters with a Ford bolt pattern, so I've decided to go that route and find something with a larger offset. I'd recommend you do the same, but the BS on those MTs isn't large enough to warrant it.

I'm still trying to figure out why manufacturers haven't standardized their wheel lines. For example, I called TSW on a set of wheels they make, asking if they could do it in a gunmetal like another style of wheel that they offer. They told me they don't do 'custom' wheels. I didn't bother asking if they could make it in a chevy bolt pattern (they do on some offerings, but not that one).

I'm sure many guys in this thread (https://www.pro-touring.com/showthread.php?95976-ATTENTION-WHEEL-MANUFACTURES!!-Is-there-anyone-that-makes-an-affordable-Mesh-Wheel) would be interested (though it may be directed toward mesh wheels, any progress is a step in the right direction). Forward it to MT and see if it sways them any.

This was the rim I have been looking at for a couple weeks to put on my Skylark once I get the brakes down. Well it looks like back to searching for rims I guess

I really like these wheels, http://www.oewheelsllc.com/Wheels_3/Wheels-for-Pontiac/Corvette-C6-Z06-Wheels-Gunmetal_3. Of course, being for late model Corvette, 4th Gen F-Body, the offset is deep and I would need 2" adapters up front and 1/2" spacers out back. When I saw the Mickey wheel, the offsets were exactly what I needed, but then there's the bolt pattern issue......

Frank, I almost pulled the trigger on a set of Z06 wheels. They definitely look good. I ended up with 18" TSW Tremblants in the Ford bolt pattern. At least the deep BS makes it easy to run adapters to convert to the GM bolt pattern.
