Should be a very similar process on a '67. http://65.18.219.5/forum/showthread.php?t=9748

What size rear tire do you want to run? Why a ladder bar suspension?

Want have the option to run up to the same tire as a viper. I just decided the ladder bar setup because it is allot cheaper than a 4 link. What would you suggest

Thanks

I would only do a ladder bar if you are interested in straight line performance only they will bind and cause al ot of headaces! A four link will give much better handling and driving characteristics than a ladder bar! Especially on the street.

I agree with Travis. A four link would work better with what you're trying to do. On the minitub route,I'm not sure it will allow you to run Viper-spec rubber. To run a 335 or 345 tire, you're looking at a 12-13" wide rim width. I'm running a 335/35/17 tire(with some 365's waiting) on a 17x13 rim but my 69 has full tubs and narrowed frame rails.
Besides, you can fit a 10" rim and 295 tire on your 67,now. But,I like your thinking.

While on the subject,I cannot say I've ever seen an A-body minitubbed.
Has anyone ever seen one done?

Bill Howell's GTO is minitubbed, I believe.

What did he do about the frame?

Chopped it up with an axe!

HTH Centerdrive rear suspension will work with frame rails pinched as much as 3 inches per side.

Any idea on what kind of backspacing I would need to run a 10 inch wheel that will tuck inside the fender with no rubbing

Thanks for everyones help on here

A 10" wide wheel will need 5.5" backspacing. Nothing less.

Well thanks everyone for the info I think I am just going to go with a 10 inch rim for now until I save up enough for a 4 link setup
