So my 2nd 69 Camaro that I will be selling needs some tires and wheels bad. I set aside $1500.00 and there is a lot a good looking one piece wheels that will fit the price but after searching for a week every 17 x 9-9.5" wheel is made with not enough backspace by 1/2". I could go 7 and 8's but I really wanted 8 and 9's with 275-40 on the back :hammer:
am I missing anything out there? I need 9 with 5.5" or 9.5 with 5.75" in a timeless 5 spoke design.

What backspace (front and rear) do you need?

front 17 x 8" with 4.5"-4.75" (easy)
rear 17 x 9" with 5.5" or 17 x 9.5" with 5.75" (needle in a hay stack)

Thanks but I was just looking for inexpensive ready to ship 1 piece wheel with a torque thrust look. Custom wheels will take too long and cost too much for this car.
About to pull the trigger on these. I am just going to have to run a little narrower tire than what I want to.

I have a '67 Camaro with 245/40/18's on 18x8 Foose Legends w/5" BS up front and 275/40/18's on 18x9 w/5.25" BS in the rear.
I wouldn't want any more backspacing than the 5.25" in the rear, they are pretty close to the inside as they sit. The fronts are also a little tight on the inside, so I think your choice to go with less BS is wise there.

I got my MB "Old School" wheels at Discount Tire. I got the price from their online store, discounttiredirect.com and went into the local store where they price matched @ $149.00 each. I got 17x9.5 all the way around on my car. They have 5.5 backspace. I run 255 and 275-40-17s. They also sell an 17x8" version but I don't know what backspace is available. This is a 69 not a 67/68 the 1/4's are completely different. I am basing my needed sizes off what I have measured in the car itself.

That was the first wheel I was after but I think 9.5 may be discontinued or on a real long back order. My local Discount said there is no stock in the country and no ETA when they will have any again.

I used these for the 69 Im working on now:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/18x8-18x9-POLISHED-REV-CLASSIC-100-WHEELS-RIMS-FOR-CHEVY-1969-CAMARO-/190814454409?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2c6d6d8289&vxp=mtr#ht_1268wt_1008
I plan on selling mine too. I wasnt sure how nice these would be once I saw them in person, but I was pleasantly surprised. I'm running 275/40/18 rear & 245/40/18 on front. They fit well & finish is nicely polished. Ya, I know- just like a torque thrust, but they appeal to broad range of buyers.

I used the same wheels in silver (from the same vender) on another car and I too was pleasantly supprised.
They still have the same delima 5" of BS. In my car if I leave a 1/2" window for clearance I have 5" between the surface of the drum and the lip of the 1/4 panel. With 5" BS and a 275 tire I will be right to the edge of the 1/4 flange leaving almost no clearance.
I went ahead and ordered the American racing wheels above that also come with 5" BS. I am just going to use a 255-45 tire to gain my clearance.

Love my Centerline Sundance Retro wheels, and you can order custom offsets direct from Centerline.

That might be a option in the future but I need the car ready to sell in 2 weeks at a giant car corral / swap meet so I went with what I will have here in a couple days.

Have you checked out the Boss Motorsports 338 wheels (http://www.bossmotorsports.com/custom_chrome_wheels.cfm?id=1920&cat=467)? They don't have an 8 and 9 in a 17, but they do in an 18. Pretty good pricing...my son is looking at these since he is "financially challenged". Not sure if they have your backspacing though.
For my 69 Camaro and my wife's 70 Chevelle, we bought the Colorado Custom Lazear wheels (http://www.coloradocustom.com/WheelDetails.aspx?WheelID=54&DivCat=4). Unfortunately, they'll blow your budget ($650-$700 each), but they do offer a 17's in an 8, 9, and 9.5 and the wheels look a lot like the old TT's. They also offer custom backspacing...in fact they shipped me my wheels without welding them so I could test fit first. Only cost me a bit extra for shipping, but was well worth it.
Good luck!

Tossed them on the wife's 69 tonight to take a few pics. For the money I am real pleased. I think they will really help the other car sell.
