I'm really pi$$ed at ford right now. V6 5-speed auto with 103K miles, got in the car friday to go to work, put the shifter in drive and not moving. Worked fine on thursday, no slippage or any physical indications something was wrong. No matter where I move the shifter the car won't move, engine running fine. Had it towed to a transmission shop (local IT shop). They told me today it is worn out, need to rebuild it. At about $2300 to fix. I don't race the car and engine is stock except a cold air kit and ~80% of the miles is highway driving to & from work ~75 miles a day. Had an e150 conversion van with 200+K and never had any trans issues or my escort ZX2 with 124K & no trans issues. I won't ever buy another automatic in a mustang.
