Hey everyone,
I'm in the middle of starting up a new business. In a nut-shell, I really want to target the Pro-Touring market. I'll be selling manufactures parts, as well as manufacturing my own parts.
One of my biggest struggles is coming up a business name! This is what I came up with:
Code 510
Pronounced Code Five Ten. What do you think? Is it catchy?
There is a back story to the name...but before that, I'd just like to see what y'alls opinions on just Code 510 is. Is it cool? Mysterious? Hip? Dorky? Confusing?
Thanks!! I really appreciate the help!

The best advice I can provide, is to come up with TEN names that you really like, not one. Then trim the list down to three, then be sure to test all three possibilities against the US Trademark process (uspto.gov) as well as domain name availability and social media availability.
I like the Code 510 name. It's short 'n sweet, and doesn't pigeon-hole you into any specific category. That's good. It's not especially memorable, but with enough time and marketing, it will take root. There's a sense of urgency about it. Like you're selling fire department supplies. I don't think that bad, just avoid flames and such in your graphics.
Good luck!

510 is the code for "speeding vehicle" in Arizona. It's a badass name, but maybe add the word "performance" or something at the end.

We pretty much did what you said. We came up with a million names, then narrowed them down and finally picked this one. We already own www.code510.com, I made sure of that before posting here. But that's good what pops in your head is Fire Department. That's what I wanted to hear, what pops in your head. Thank you!!!

Ding ding ding!!! That was our inspiration for Code 510. We thought since we are going for a upgraded, hot rod, pro touring, etc that "speeding vehicle" kinda fit.
We wanted to avoid performance along with speed, tech, industries, customs, restoration, etc etc. We felt those have been done so many times, and we are trying to be little different.
Thanks for your input! :)

Knowing the back story, Code 510 is pretty cool. Better than Code 187. Ha ha. Seriously, that's pretty cool for a performance shop.
